Mustafa Soykut: Associate Professor of History

Mustafa Soykut studied at the Università degli Studi di Bologna in Italy and received his BA and MA degrees from Bilkent University in Ankara. He received his PhD from the Fachbereich Orientalistik, Universität Hamburg in Germany.

His areas of specialisation are:

·        Cultural-Political history of Europe vis-à-vis the Turks and Islam

·        Historical image of the Turk in Europe

·        Cultural history of the Renaissance and the Modern Age

·        History of religion in India and Asia

·        History of Buddhism and Hinduism
